I am a graduate from the Great Martyr Euphemia Orthodox Theological Academy (GMEOTA). I am very pleased with their Diploma in Orthodox Theological Studies. I do have some experience with higher education having received both my BA and MA from Protestant schools, so I can say with confidence that this is an academically rigorous program. It also has flexibility to meet people where they are, so someone from any background can grow in their knowledge of Orthodoxy through this program. It can help women and men that want to deepen their knowledge of Orthodoxy, better serve their families and communities, share the Gospel, and teach at their local parish.

It is also a program capable of preparing one for ordained ministry. In this way, I feel that GMEOTA meets a crucial deficit amidst the current landscape of Orthodox Christian higher education. Most higher education is very expensive and requires one to travel to the east coast of the US for studies. This program is affordable and online, so it can be completed while working and being plugged in to your current parish. I think this program would be amazing as preparation for ministry with a cohort of students in community with each other and local clergy mentors. For anyone interested in learning more about Orthodox Theology, I highly recommend this program.
